Introduction to the Hemiceptor

The Jensen Hemiceptor is a 1970 Jensen Interceptor Mk. II that has been completely reengineered and remanufactured using modern components. The primary purpose of this website is to serve as a chronicle of this modification process. Secondarily, the website will serve as an “Owner’s Manual” for the vehicle.

Every component of the Jensen Hemiceptor is new or thoughtfully rebuilt and upgraded. A great deal of emphasis has been focused on replacing known troublesome and unreliable elements in the original Jensen All English electrical and climate control systems have been replaced with modern (American) equipment. There remains no Lucas component in the Jensen Hemiceptor, with the exception of the windshield wiper motor, which is new, and the windshield wiper switch.

No attempt has been made to extract maximum horsepower from the Gen. III Chrysler 6.1 Hemi engine, or to fine-tune the fully adjustable suspension or the multi-program capable Mercedes/Chrysler transmission. Such an endeavor is reserved for the individual who ultimately acquires the Hemiceptor. The potential for very high performance tuning is built into the Hemiceptor’s equipment specifications, which is controlled by the software installed on the furnished laptop computer and the adjustability inherent in the suspension components.
